#SFFpit contest results

As promised, below are the Twitter pitches I used that received the beloved favorite from a press or agent:

A broken family. Untamed power. A hunter ready to take down his prey. Life was simpler when she lived at the Covenant. #SFFpit #NA #FR #UF

A girl’s race to channel her soul. A Huntsmen eager to take her out and a power simmering beneath the surface. #SFFpit #NA #FR #UF

For budding Summoner, Zayria, there are 2 goals in her line of work: to channel her spirit animal and find her soul mate #SFFpit #NA #FR #UF

Zayria is finally able to shapeshift, but when her lover becomes the prey it’s either his life or hers. #SFFpit #NA #FR #UF

Self-doubting? Check. Shifting into her spirit animal? Soft maybe. Dying at the hand of her new lover? Totally possible. #SFFpit #NA #FR #UF

At this point, I don’t really know what to do with all the information just yet. Overall, I think these are decent #SFFpit contest results, but I need to research some of the houses and buff up my query. I’m getting ready to participate in something called Query Letter Hell, so I’d like to have the best possible pitch out there before I start up again.

I think it’s important to note that I had a few more favorites, but they were just variations of one of the five above. In general, I tried to mix things up. I watched the feed like a hawk and altered my pitches to stand out. If my fellow authors were flooding the scene with “When so and so went here and did this…” then I used the checklist formula (and vice versa). When I figured out what gained the most attention, I re-used that a few times and just altered the order of the hashtags to stay within Twitter’s Terms of Agreement.

Anyway, so there you have it. And now I have it. And I’m still not sure what to do with it, haha. Happy querying!
